The day was sunny and warm.

In the morning a band inspection and parade were held at downtown White Rock. After the parade the competition was held at Crescent Beach Park.

The judges were Terry Lee, Alan Bevan, Andrew Bonar, David Hicks, Duncan Millar and Kathryn Tawse.

In the evening there was an awards banquet and an excellent concert by Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.
